Illinois Catholic Health Association
ANNUAL MEETING
Friday, October 6, 2023
Diocese of Joliet Blanchette Catholic Center
16555 Weber Road
Crest Hill, Illinois 60403
The keynote will be delivered by Helen Alvare. Professor Alvare will present on her belief that Catholics should not shy away from their values but embrace them and actively explain how they are grounded and the true value they have for our society at large.
Following Professor Alvare, Jim Geoly, legal counsel for the Archdiocese of Chicago, will present on specific legal issues that challenge our religious liberties. This should complement Professor Alvare’s presentation because she believes these court cases provide an excellent opportunity to highlight the societal benefits of our religious values.
Finally, Fr. Michael Place, ethicist for Franciscan Alliance, will focus specifically on Catholic health care, reminding our members of their rich history and invaluable and irreplaceable service they provide to our communities.
To cover the cost of food, speakers, and meeting space, a donation of $125.00 per participant is requested. A continental breakfast will be available from 8:00AM to 8:30AM. You may register by returning the attached form and donation directly to us at our office (65 E. Wacker Place, Suite 1620, Chicago, IL 60601). We do not accept credit cards.
